General Convention is held July 6 – 17 in Anaheim, California. Four lay deputies and four clergy deputies will gather in the House of Deputies and Bishop Wendell Gibbs will take his seat in the House of Bishops in one of the largest legislative assemblies in the world.
Bishop Wendell Gibbs will be in the House of Bishops and serving on the Structure committee.
The lay deputies serving in the House of Deputies are: Bonnie Anderson (president of the House of Deputies); Herb Gunn; Julia Huttar Bailey (serving on the Prayer Book, Liturgy and Church Music committee); and Pete Ross (serving on the Consecration of Bishops committee). Cedric Flounory is attending as the lay alternate.
The clergy deputies are: the Rev. Lisa Gray; the Rev. Barbara Cavin (serving on the Ministry committee); the Rev. Brad Whitaker (serving on the Evangelism committee): and the Rev. Daniel Appleyard (serving on the Ecumenical Relations committee). Deacon Thalia Johnson is attending as the clerical alternate.
Thanks for providing all of the Diocesan family a way of staying connected during this important Convention. I look forward to getting this inside peek at the church at work. It will certainly inform my prayers.
